In short, this amends the DMCA so that getting around digital rights management (DRM) software is only illegal if you’re doing it in order to circumvent copyright. This is super important for vidders — we would no longer have to constantly go after an exemption.

Amazon secured a deal with Warner on some franchises (Vampire Diaries, etc) that allows them to publish fanworks from said franchise (with massive restrictions, no porn, no graphic violence, etc), with low payment for authors (!!!) and massive percentage going back to Warner (!!!!!)

This is Jakey (Damian cosplayer) with his new friend Ethan at the San Jose Comicfest. Ethan is an extraordinarily artistic 8 year old with his own booth at the convention, whom Jakey consistently returned to during the day. When asked by Mick Gray (the inker for Batman and Robin), what his favorite part of the convention was, Jake told him it was meeting Ethan. At the end of the con, Ethan gifted the spider-man he had been working on all morning to Jakey and even signed his work. Ethan’s face when he handed the art to Jakey… omg. My heart cannot take how adorable they are. Jacob is now practicing how to draw a robin, so he can have something to give Ethan tomorrow. <3

I feel a little chatty tonight, so here goes:

1. What kind of music do you listen to?

Practically everything. I tend to change my playlist according to my mood, or what I’m doing - some days it’s rock or metal, some days it’s kpop/jpop, some days it’s jazz, or sometimes I dig up Disney songs and sing to them… O_o

2. Do like to play video games? If so, what kind?

Oh my gods I love them. Mostly PC games like Diablo 2 or 3, Starcraft, Heroes of Might and Magic and tons more. I don’t own a console, like Wii or XboX. If I did, I’d never have a life. I’m serious, I can get addicted to games way too easily.

3. Why do you enjoy BL?

I’m… not sure. I just do? I mean, I never read any manga growing up, so perhaps I’m making up for the lost era. And I like looking at the art (pretty faces, clearly I have a type).

4. Do you have a favorite author? If so, who?

I have many favorite authors it’s impossible to pick one *sobs*. Okay, if I had to pick ONE, it would be … Frank Herbert? No, wait, Robert Jordan.. no wait, Neil Gaiman… wait…argh. Basically all the authors of the books in my bookshelf. (except Twilight, why are you in my bookself O_o)

5. Do you like onions?

Not raw, but yes, I do like them cooked.

6. If you could live anyplace in the world, where would it be?

L.A. I’ve been there a few times, and the weather is so pleasant compared to being here near the equator. I wish I could just beam there whenever our weather starts baking us alive here.

7. Do you sleep in your socks?

Gosh, no, too hot for that here.

8. Favorite color?

Turquoise

9. Ever rode a horse?

Yes! I used to work with them. And by work I mean mucking out the stables -__- not very glamorous like being a rider or trainer, sadly.

10. If you could time travel, where would you go?

Same country, but back to when I was 15 so I can pat myself on the shoulder sympathetically when I declared to all my friends I would never do something like queue up for hours for a concert and scream like a crazed fan for a singer… HAH.

11. Can/do you cook?

Yes! Cooking is rather therapeutic sometimes. (Cleaning up, though, is not so fun.)
